Privacy Policy

This policy explains how CrawlCare handles personal information under South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

When you run a free scan we store your email address, the website address you entered, the time, a one-way hash of your IP address and the scan results. If you send a fix request we also store your name, role, platform, urgency, the problems you picked, any notes and your phone number if you give one. When you buy, our payment providers (Yoco and PayPal) process your card details. We do not see or store card numbers.

Why we collect it

To show and email your scan report, to reply to fix requests and to deliver services you buy. Our legal basis is your consent and, for paid work, performance of a contract.

Who we share it with

Google PageSpeed Insights receives the website address you scan. Our email provider (Hostinger) sends our emails. To show prices in your currency, your IP address may be sent to ip-api.com to look up your country; we keep only the country. Payment providers receive what they need to process a payment. We do not sell personal information.

Shared report links

Each report has a private link. Anyone you give the link to can see the report, which includes the website address but not your email.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, by emailing hello@crawlcare.com. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local data protection authority.
